50 Heroines of the Irish Food Scene

I was delighted and honoured (and a little overwhelmed tbh!) to be named among 50 Heroines of the Irish Food and Drink Scene in the Irish Times on Saturday!

In the Food and Culinary Education section, I am featured along with Cait Noone, head of my alumni mater Galway International Hotel School, Manuela Spinelli, Secretary General of Euro-Toques Ireland, Dr. Mary Farrell who highlights gender equality if the chef profession and is head chef at Morton’s and my second cousin (twice removed possibly but definitly a distant relative!) Annette Sweeney, culinary studies academic and promoter of mindful kitchens at TU Dublin.

Annette and I, along with Paula Stakelum, also one of the 50 Heroines of the Irish Food Scene also shared a stage as Ambassadors at Food on the Edge in 2019. Food on the Edge is a boutique festival aimed at chefs and other people in the food industry globally who come together to discuss the future of food.
