6 things to do with leftover Easter Eggs!

Make it stand out

Easter has been and gone and you still have a pile of Easter Eggs sitting on the counter. What on earth will you and the kids do with all that chocolate?! Here’s some vaguely healthy recipes for leftover Easter eggs.

Some ideas on using up leftover Easter Egg chocolate:

  1. Eat it - no explanation needed! If the kids have had their fill over Easter, let them squirrel it away somewhere and delve into it over the next couple of weeks! Mine have broken their eggs up and popped them into various containers for the days and weeks ahead.

  2. Save it - in the past, we have popped leftover Easter Eggs into the freezer. They can be taken out and enjoyed for ages after Easter

  3. Make 3 ingredient cookies - these are a big hit in our house and are a great way to serve chocolate alongside some other nutritious foods - oats and banana. These healthy cookies are a great match for a glass of milk! From my cookbook, Chop, Cook, Yum

  4. Use the Easter Egg chocolate in your favourite chocolate bark recipe. Add lots of nuts and seeds for extra nutrition.

  5. Use your leftovers to top your porridge! My kids all love a little bit of chocolate on their morning porridge.

  6. Use any and all leftover chocolate as a hot chocolate drink. Just add to warm milk and stir, stir, stir.
