Chicken Nuggets

 

Your kids will love making these tasty, healthier chicken nuggets from scratch. They are easy but a bit messy to make ..!

Packed full of simple ingredients you’ll probably already have, they are great as a tasty dinner, snack for the kids or in the school lunchboxes. No nasty ingredients need apply for this healthier options!

Make these high protein chicken nuggets in minutes. Serve with home-made chips, wedges and some salad.

Molly’s top tips

  • pop these in the airfryer for extra crunch

  • make a double batch and freeze half

  • try and just use one hand for the messy business of flouring and then egging the chicken!

Equipment: Blender, chopping board, knife, baking tray, 3 flat bowls (I use empty takeaway containers for this), and a fork

Ingredients

  • 3/4 skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 slices wholemeal bread
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 eggs
  • garlic powder

Instructions

Method:
  1. Heat oven to 180 degrees
  2. Blitz bread in your blender to make breadcrumbs
  3. Place on baking tray and toast for about 7-10 minutes, turning once
  4. Whisk eggs in bowl
  5. Pour flour into second bowl and mix in 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  6. Place toasted breadcrumbs in third bowl
  7. Chop chicken into strips
  8. Dip each strip first into the seasoned flour, then egg and finally breadcrumbs
  9. Place directly on baking tray and bake for 20-25 minutes, turning once
