Don't Make Ice Cream - Make Nice Cream! A Tasty and Healthy Treat for Kids
Nice cream is like ice cream but is made with bananas! It is super easy to make and you can add lots of other ingredients like strawberries, cacao powder, raspberries and more to make it even more tasty!
The kids will love making it! Taken from our children’s cookbook Chop, Cook, Yum
Don't Make Ice Cream - Make Nice Cream! A Tasty and Healthy Treat for Kids

- chopping board
- child-safe knife
- freezer bag
- blender
- 4 ripe bananas
- 1/2 cup of milk
Instructions
- Chop the bananas into chunks and pop them into freezer bag.
- Freeze for at least two hours, or even better, over night.
- Put the frozen banana chunks into your blender and blend.
- The frozen bananas will go crumbly first then gooey.
- Stop the blender and scrape down the sides from time to time.
- Add a little of milk as required (but not too much) to loosen the bananas.
- Keep blending until the bananas start to have the consistency of creamy, soft-serve ice cream (almost like a 99!).
- Eat immediately with your favourite toppings or put into an airtight container and freeze for a couple of hours to make a harder ‘nice cream’.

Strawberry Nice Cream - add 1/2 cup chopped strawberries
Everything Nice Cream - add 2 tbsp cacao powder, 1/2 cup chopped strawberries, 1 tbsp peanut butter and a handful of chocolate chips.
